Gifted students exhibit high performance capability in intellectual, creative, musical and/or artistic areas, possess an unusual leadership capacity or excel in specific academic fields. They require services not ordinarily provided by schools that must be individualized. Many students report that their time in “Gifted Class” is the highlight of their day because of the challenge that is lacking in other coursework. This session will help Teachers of the Gifted spread the message that Gifted students are “gifted all day,” not just during one period or in one subject and offer tools to assist educators to incorporate appropriate challenges into the “regular” coursework.
